As planned, USSH will receive two Indonesian language lecturers, Mrs.Yeyen Purwiyanti (Center for the Development of Language Strategy and Diplomacy, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia) and Mrs.Fitria Wiyarti Nindyaningrum (Malang State University, Indonesia). The two lecturers will be in charge of teaching Indonesian language for students of USSH's Division of Southeast Asian Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies for the second semester of academic year 2019-2020. This activity is within the framework of an agreement signed between the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam and the University.
On behalf of the University, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh expressed his thanks to the Indonesian Embassy for acting as a bridge between USSH and the native Indonesian lecturers. He also pledged to ensure the best living and working conditions for the lecturers during their time in Vietnam.

Since 2018, Southeast Asian studies has officially been an independent major at USSH, whose curriculum includes Indonesian language as a mandatory subject. At the beginning of 2019, USSH and the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam co-held the first Indonesian language course lasting from February to June with the participation of 47 students of Division of Southeast Asian studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies.
