USSH strengthens international cooperation in linguistics training and research

On two days September 25th-26th, 2019, USSH's Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan on behalf of USSH, VNU Hanoi participated in the Forum of the International Association on linguistics training and research held in Xian city (China).

The 2019 forum extended its membership to nearly 40 universities from 20 countries: Japan, South Korea, China, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Germany, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Urkraine, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Mexico, Chile and Peru. The participants discussed and reiterated the importance of linguistics training as the international higher education context dramatically changes and demands for human resources in the 4th industrial revolution rise, and addressed the innovative methods for improving international linguistics training at universities.

Speaking at the Forum, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized the importance of innovations in linguistics training, introduced about USSH's tradition of teaching Vietnamese studies and language and mission of reforming the teaching and evaluation of Vietnamese lanuage proficiency assigned by Vietnam's Ministry of Training and Education in recent years. He also called USSH's partner universities to strengthen lecturer, student and learning material exchange so that the teaching of Vietnamese language and culture overseas consistently develops.

On the sideline of the Forum, Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan visited and worked at Xian International Studies University. The two sides agreed to continue exchanging staff and students specializing in Vietnamese language, linguistics and cultural studies, tourism, communication studies, etc. in the coming years.
