“Facebook for Vietnam” puts existing and newly created programmes in Vietnam under one hashtag. Running in Vietnam from May until December 2020 and focusing on five pillars: Innovation, Digital Economy, Safety and Digital Literacy, Cities and Community, the campaign presents Facebook’s contributions and investments that will support Vietnam to become a fully digital nation.  The campaign is the first comprehensive program designed exclusively for Vietnam under the social media hashtag #fb4vn.

As one of the speakers invited to the talk show on Facebook's development in Vietnam, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh expressed his delight at the active contributions made by Facebook in Vietnam. He said: "From an educational perspective, Facebook has garnered widespread attention in Vietnam. On September 27th, 2019, the Vietnam's Politburo released Resolution no 52, emphasizing the participation in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 through the transition to a digital country, which Vietnam is supposed to actively engage in.

Second, now that it is a digital age, companies like Facebook play a very important role, not only because they have the most innovative technology solutions but also because they are able to reach billions of people around the globe. Globally there are 3 billion users of Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Third, speaking of education, a new generation of digital citizens is emerging, who are potentially global citizens. Facebook has shown its dedication to actively providing the knowledge, skills and attitude of these digital citizens as they use social media.

On the steps made by USSH to catch up with the digital trend, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh said the University founded the Vietnam Program for Internet and Society in 2016 that has since taken part in developing a Code of conduct on social media, and held several conferences on such newsworthy issues as fake news and hate speech. USSH has launched the new Bachelor's program in Information management, and devised a strategy of applying IT in teaching activities according to which its lecturers have begun to teach online. In December 2019, a group of lecturers of USSH was invited to the global "We think digital" program of Facebook in Singapore.

The Rector expressed his hope that "Facebook for Vietnam" 2020 will become successful.
