At the meeting, Professor. Pham Quang Minh expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador and Japanese Embassy for his enthusiastic support and asssistance in the development of Japanese studies at the University as well as in promoting friendly relationships between Vietnam and Japan.
Thanks to this enthusiastic support, several of USSH's students have been awarded graduate scholarships to study at leading universities in Japan and gained extensive knowledge of the traditional culture and arts of the Country of the rising sun such as at tea ceremony and calligraphy classes, etc. directly taught by Japanese artisans. In November 2019, through the Embassy of Japan, USSH signed a memorandum of cooperation on academic exchanges with the Japan National Institutes for the Humanities, consisting of 6 organs: the National Museum of Japanese History, the National Institute of Japanese Literature, the International Research Center for Japanese Studies, the Research Institute for Humanity and Nature, the National Museum of Ethnology, and the Japanese Language and Linguistics. According to this MOU, representatives of the two institutions signed on the MOU, according to which the two sides would engage in educational cooperation through exchanging scholars and researchers; exchanging materials and facilities; and conducting common research projects in the field of social sciences and humanities.
