USSH's Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan remarked at the workshop: promoting "technologization" as well as online technologies in teaching affairs is not a temporary action but part of a strategy of the University. The implementation of E-learning at USSH is one of the crucial tasks set by the University in 2020 and the next 5 years. It also reflects the efforts spent by the lecturers in applying IT to innovate teaching activities.
He also said: Formerly, online training activities at the University only stopped at allowing lecturers to give assignments and reading materials to students; some discussions were launched at both real and virtual classrooms. In order to more effectively and professionally strengthen and popularize the use of E-learning among teaching staff, the University has cooperated with UPM Co. Ltd to integrate a more modern platform for online teaching expected to bring plenty of advantages to lecturers in managing classrooms and maintaining multi-dimensional interactions with students.
He also noted: the biggest success in implementing technologies in teaching and learning activities at USSH has been the enthuasiastic spirit of innovation shown by the lecturers and students. When the University contacted with UPM Co. Ltd to begin using E-learning, it was expected there would be 15-20 lecturers registering for the workshop. But in the end nearly 100 lecturers registered, and in this semester they will apply E-learning tools in teaching activities. The lecturers consider this both a right and a responsiblity with regard to innovating the teaching affairs of USSH, which is proud to have a professional, dedicated and especially imbued with innovative spirit teaching cadre.
