Vice Rector Hoang Anh Tuan introduced briefly about USSH. The University was established in 1945 and is currently leading in Vietnam specializing in social sciences and humanities. It provides 24 bachelor's programs, 40 master's programs and and 31 doctoral programs, which range from basic subjects such as History, Literature, Sino-Nom, Linguistics and Philosophy to applied majors such as Journalism, Public relations, Hotel management and Tourism, Psychology and Management Science.
It hosts around 1000 international students in different training courses, among whom the Korean students are the largest cluster. Majors that normally attract these students include Linguistics, Vietnamese Studies, International Studies, Archival Studies and History. The University is pioneering in training Vietnamese language, history, culture and society and has helped form many Vietnamese studies centers around the world.
The Vice Rector highly appreciated the interest in Vietnamese-Korean families of the Jeju Provincial Office of Education and said USSH would provide ample conditions for children of these families to study Vietnamese language and culture. The University would also provide them with accommodation, expenses and job opportunities in Vietnam.
In response, Mr. Ko Deoggyu expressed his gratefulness for being warmly welcomed and provided with detailed and useful information and hoped the two sides would enhance cooperation in as many areas as possible in the future.
