Meeting with the delegation of Hallym University (South Korea)

On December 12th, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr Hoang Anh Tuan (USSH’s Rector) and representatives of Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Journalism and Communication, Office for Cooperation and Development welcomed and worked with the delegation of Hallym University (South Korea) led by Prof. Choi Young Jae (Vice President for Academic Affairs).

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr Hoang Anh Tuan briefly introduced about USSH, with an emphasis on its strategy of internationalization and extending international relations. USSH’s Faculty of Oriental Studies’ Division of Korean Studies is a prestigious institution specializing in Korean language and Korean Studies in Vietnam. The Vice Rector was optimistic about the potential for cooperation between USSH and Hallym University through such activities as exchanging lecturers and students, collaborating in common research projects and co-holding joint training programs.  

In response, Prof. Choi Young Jae expressed his gratefulness for being warmly welcomed by USSH. He said Hallym University would like to receive a lecturer from USSH to come to Korea and study about the country and its language. Hallym University would also consider bilateral cooperation with USSH’s Faculty of Journalism and Communication.

On behalf of USSH, Assoc. Prof. Dr Hoang Anh Tuan committed to selecting an appropriate candidate for the suggestion made by Hallym University. He also hoped the two sides can extend cooperation to other fields such as Sociology, Social Work, and Political Science.

Hallym University is a private university located in Chuncheon, Gangwon, and Republic of Korea and was established in 1982. It has acquired the status of "distinguished university," the title granted by the Ministry of Education, three years in a row, and has also been selected for funding by the Brain Korea 21 Project. Its colleges are College of Humanities, College of Social Sciences, College of Business, College of Natural Sciences, College of Information & Electronic Engineering, College of Medicine, and College of International Studies.
