Meeting with the delegation from Hainan University (China)

On January 30th, 2018, Assoc. Prof. Dr Tran Viet Nghia (Dean of the Office for Cooperation and Development) welcomed and worked with the delegation from Hainan University led by Mr. Jin Shan (President of College of Foreign Languages, Hainan University).

At the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr Tran Viet Nghia briefly introduced about USSH’s history and training activities as one of leading universities in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. He also emphasized USSH’s strategy of internationalization, including the enhancement of international cooperation. The Chinese universities are among its core partners.

On behalf of Hainan University, Mr. Jin Shan expressed his gratitude for being warmly welcomed by USSH. He highly appreciated the potential for cooperation between the two universities. He suggested opening more courses concerning Chinese history and culture; improving exchanges and cooperation in all of the training and research areas; strengthening students and lecturers exchanges.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Tran Viet Nghia agreed with Mr. Jin Shan’s proposals and hoped the two universities would continue cooperation in the coming time. He reaffirmed that USSH would always welcome and provide the best conditions for Chinese students in particular and international students at large.  

Hainan University is a comprehensive provincial university in Haikou, Hainan province established in 1988. The original Hainan university was established in 1983. It was a key provincial university. On August 14, 2007, the Ministry of Education approved the merger of the South China University of Tropical Agriculture and Hainan University merged into one that kept the Hainan University name. Hainan University consists of three campuses: Haidian Campus, Chengxi Campus, and Danzhou Campus, with a total area of 3.00 km2.
