Meeting with the delegation from Chiba University (Japan)

On October 8th, 2018, Prof. Dr Pham Quang Minh and representatives of USSH's Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of Tourism, Faculty of International Studies, and Office for Cooperation and Development welcomed and worked with the delegation from Chiba University (Japan) led by Prof. Makoto Watanabe (Vce President).

At the meeting, Prof. Dr Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced about USSH, with an emphasis on its strategy of internationalization and enlarging international relations. The University has formed partnerships with many universities and educational instutitions in the world, including the Japanese partners such as Tokyo University, Waseda University and Osaka University. The Rector said Japan is always an important partner in the University's strategy of internationalization. Therefore, USSH would like to commence cooperation with Chiba University through such activities as exchanging students and lecturers; conducting common research projects and joint training programs.

On behalf of Chiba University, Prof. Makoto Watanabe expressed his thanks to USSH's warm reception. Chiba University would also like to send its undergraduates and postgraduates to visit and do internship in Vietnam. He suggested signing an official bilateral memorandum of understanding, based on which to conduct specific activities in the future. 

Prof. Dr Pham Quang Minh said USSH would provide the best conditions for the Japanese students and learners. The Rector also introduced some joint programs already created among USSH and its foreign partners such as Stirling University (United Kingdom), Busan University (South Korea) and Meiji University (Japan).

Chiba University was formed in 1949, currently one of 15 best universities in Japan. It has plentiful facilities, including libraries, hospitals and some laboratories. Chiba University has over 11.000 students, including 4.000 postgraduates. Nine of its schools are Humanities and Social Sciences, Education, Nursing, Social Sciences and Humanities, Science and Technology, Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Law School. Chiba University signed an official agreement in 2017 with University of Technology, VNU, Hanoi, focusing on robot technology.
