In his opening speech, Mr. Panyarak Poolthup expressed his wish to cooperate with the Robins Department Store to help Faculty of Oriental Studies upgrade and amend the Thai study Room. Until now, the infrastructure and materials of the Room have been largely improved. Mr. Panyarak Poolt hoped this assistance would help the University promote its training and teaching of Thailand and Thai people and concurrently strengthen relations between the University and the Thailand's Embassy to Vietnam in particular and cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand in general.

Regarding the Robins Department Store, Mrs Jariya Chirathivat said that by upgrading the Thai Study Room for USSH, the Store aimed to facilitate the access of Vietnamese students and learners to Thai culture and country. Investment in education is one of the priorities of the Store as well as Central Group Thailand.
For his part, Assoc.Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Kim expressed his gratitude towards the Thai Embassy to Vietnam and the Robins Department Store. He said that the development of USSH also goes in line with its international relations with foreign companies and organizations. Thus the assistance of the Thai Embassy and Robins Department Store would greatly contribute to the training and teaching of Thailand. This was all the more meaningful as the Faculty is one of the leading institutions on Thai studies in Vietnam. He hoped the equipment and materials provided by the Thai Embassy would be effectively utilized by the Faculty.
The Thai study Room was officially opened at the end of the ceremony.
