The ASEAN-QA project is aimed at enhancing internal quality assurance in higher education. The program is sponsored by such international organizations as HRK (The German Rectors’ Conference), DAAD (Germany Academic Exchange Service), AQAN (ASEAN Quality Assurance Network), AUN (ASEAN University Network), ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education), SEAMEO RIHED (Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organisation) and Potsdam University (Germany).
The program includes training courses on quality assurance and project implementation at universities from 2016 to 2018. Among 32 universities in Southeast Asia participating in the ASEAN-QA Program, six are from Vietnam, namely University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi Foreign Trade University, Da Nang University, Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Vietnamese-German University.
USSH registered to implement the project "From self-assessment to developing a quality culture at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities ". The project was divided into three main groups of activities: improving English capability for staff and lecturers; conducting an online survey for learners' feedback about the modules; tailoring the bachelor programs in Oriental Studies and Philosophy. Implementers included USSH’s Center for Training Quality Assurance, Office for Personnel Affairs, Faculty of Oriental Studies and Faculty of Philosophy. The project achieved a number of successes, thereby promoting quality improvement activities as recommended by the AUN-QA team.
USSH also reported on the results of this project at the ASEAN-QA Program Completion Workshop for period 2016 - 2018 and was certificated by the Program. In the coming time, USSH will continue to carry out more activities related to internal quality assurance and communicate on education quality assurance and the development of quality culture.
