Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Van Hao (Vice President of the Vietnam Institute of Psychology – Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) on behalf of the organizing committee provided some statistics on the Conference.
The committee received 454 abstracts, and 149 full papers from participants of 35 different countries. The Vietnamese delegates came from 83 institutes and organizations nationwide. Five round tables were held commenting on the plans and trends of regional and international cooperation concerning the development of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian psychology. 13 keynote speeches, 250 papers, and 37 specialized conferences were well received by the audience for their academic substance and underlying ideas.

The conference not only brought Vietnamese psychologists together, but also connected those in the region and around the world. Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Van Hao expressed his thanks to the relevant sponsors for their support and cooperation: the International Society of Applied Psychology, the International Society of Cross-Cultural Psychology, the International Test Commission, and the Chinese and Australian Societies of Psychology. Not to mention the tireless efforts by the Vietnamese organizing team and volunteers.
Prof. Janel Gauthier (President of the International Society of Applied Psychology) expressed his belief the conference was going to be a landmark in the history of Vietnamese and Southeast Asian Psychology. It answered all the expectations set forth by the organizing committee and participants, from the number of international participants to the quality of the main papers, the varied topics discussed at the panels and round tables.

Prof. Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH’s Rector) said he was grateful for all the contributions made by USSH’s partners and scholars to the success of the Conference. A leading university with a long tradition of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, USSH was honored to become a platform for international academic discussions and sharings. The Conference also confirmed that with proper ideas and the combined efforts of Vietnamese and international scholars, it is always possible to successfully hold academic events that greatly contribute to the development and cooperation of Vietnamese, regional and international academic communities. The Rector was grateful to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Quynh Nga (Second Secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy to China) and Prof. Buxin Han, who suggested and coordinated the idea of organizing this Conference.
