Meeting with the delegation of Woosuk University (South Korea)

On May 4th, 2019, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH's Rector) and representatives of Faculty of Oriental Studies and Office for Cooperation and Development had a work meeting with the delegation of Woosuk University (South Korea) led by Dr. Chang Young-Dal (President).

At the meeting, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced about USSH, with an emphasis on its strategy of internationalization and strengthening international cooperation. The University has formed relations with over 400 partners, including such universities from South Korea as Seoul National University, Busan University of Foreign Studies and Hanyang University. Korean studies is one the favorite majors of USSH's students. Based on the memorandum of understanding signed online between the two leaders on June 8th, 2018, USSH would like to promote fruitful cooperation with Woosuk University.

In response, Dr. Chang Young-Dal on behalf of Woosuk University conveyed its desire to implement joint training programs based on 2+2, 1+3 models with USSH. The two universities can focus on such majors of similar interest as Journalism and Mass Communication, Advertisement, and Psychology. In addition, the two sides can cooperate in training Korean and Vietnamese languages for students.

Rector Pham Quang Minh said that USSH and Woosuk University share a common interest in the strategy of internationalization, including the need to attract more foreign students. He also readily welcomed the suggestions for cooperation provided by Dr. Chang Young-Dal. In the coming time, USSH's Faculty of Oriental Studies will be responsible for the specific cooperative activities with Woosuk University.

Founded in 1979 in Jeollabuk-do, Woosuk University offers a large host of programs focusing on 3 specialties: Welfare and Health, Food and Life, and Sports and Wellbeing. It consists of 8 colleges, 57 departments and 3 graduate schools.
