Master's Tea Club #8: Friday the 13th and the spiritual stories

Monday - 16/10/2017 00:15
Friday the 13th of any month in the year is considered an unlucky day in many countries; however, it turned out to be a very successful event of the Master's Tea Club (MTC). Knowing that the 8th session of MTC would take place on Friday, October 13th, 2017, MTC's organizers chose “Religion, spirituality and supersition around the world” as the topic for the meetup.

MTC session #8 welcomed the participation of a student from Japan and several USSH students. At the beginning, each participant was given the opportunity to introduce himself/herself and some of the popular beliefs in his/her country. Thanks to that, members of the club knew more about the diversity and uniqueness of the beliefs in numerous countries including Vietnam, Germany, Thailand, Japan, Myanmar, etc.

The next part of the session was reserved for members to share a spiritual story they had known or heard of. Stories about the "Sacred sprits in To Lich River", "The Haunted House on Kim Ma Street ", "The Story of Reaching the Peak of Mount Fuji", "The Tale of Funerals in Thailand", "Suicide Forest in Japan”, the spiritual abstinence in Vietnam, etc filled the meetup with excitement, curiosity and a little bit of anxiety for the participants.

This MTC meeting lasted longer than usual because many members wanted to linger to share and listen to the fascinating stories. The next MTC meeting promises to welcome more students and have interesting topics. You are invited to join the next sessions of Master's Tea Club every Friday morning at the self-study room of E building.
