At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (USSH’s rector) expressed to Dr. Andrew Hardy his sincere thanks to the contributions made by EFEO to USSH’s development. The Rector hopes EFEO will continue to facilitate and support USSH in research, training and academic development.
Dr. Andrew Hardy said, in the near future, EFEO will continue to support USSH in such activities as introducing the trilingual poet story Luc Van Tien, holding academic exchanges between French and Vietnamese scholars in the fields of literature, history, etc ...A seminar is expected to be held on the upcoming March 20th on the topic of European medieval literature and Vietnamese modern literature, on the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by Michel Jink, Perpetual Secretary of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (Paris).
From 5-6 December 2014, USSH collaborated with EFEO in Hanoi to hold a conference on "EFEO and the Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam". The conference highlighted EFEO’s historical role in the development of Vietnamese social sciences and humanities, especially since the re-deployment of its representative office in Hanoi in 1993. The conference also contributed to boosting bilateral cooperation between USSH and EFEO.
